At Populoos, we’re the kind of people who never miss a chance to get away, whether it’s a long weekend, Easter break, or the classic summer trip back home… or wherever the mood takes you. And just like you wouldn’t forget your snacks or sunscreen, we come along in your suitcase too.

Thanks to roaming, you can use your mobile abroad just like you would in Spain: call, browse, send voice notes… even keep up with your family WhatsApp group chat from the other side of the world.

Important: roaming is not the same as international calls

Even this can be confusing, so here’s a simple explanation:

  • Roaming → using your mobile while you’re abroad (calls, data, etc.)
  • International calls → calling another country while you’re still in Spain.

How much does roaming cost depending on where you go?

Roaming costs depend on your destination:

- Travelling within Europe and associated countries: no extra cost
If you’re travelling within the European Union or associated countries, you’re all set , your plan works just like it does at home. No surprises, no fine print. In other words, you can keep calling, browsing and sharing memes as if you were relaxing on your own sofa.

This includes countries such as Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, the Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Mayotte, Italy, Réunion, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Martinique, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, the Vatican City, Ukraine and Moldova.

- Rest of the world
If you’re travelling outside the EU, you can still use your mobile (calls and data) in countries where we have agreements in place, although additional charges will apply.

We keep things simple: data roaming is available at €25/GB (€0.0244/MB VAT included) in these destinations. You can check the full list of countries here.

Please note that in some countries we don’t yet have agreements in place for data usage, due to high network costs. In these cases, the best way to stay connected without extra charges is by using WiFi whenever possible.

Get ready for your trip: what to check before you go

  1. Check the conditions for your destination country
Every destination is different, so it’s worth taking a look before you travel. That way, you know exactly what to expect. You can check our roaming rates here.
  2. Activate roaming
You can do this from your customer area or by giving us a call — whichever you prefer.
  3. Turn on data roaming
This setting is enabled directly from your phone:
Settings > Mobile Networks > Data Roaming

Even if roaming is active, you won’t have internet access unless data roaming is turned on, so make sure to enable it.
